Overview


Ivan Lendl is a former professional tennis player, considered one of the greatest in the sport’s history. Known for his powerful baseline play, strong work ethic, and tactical intelligence, Lendl was a dominant force in the 1980s. He won eight Grand Slam singles titles, including three French Opens, three US Opens, and two Australian Opens. Lendl reached the world No. 1 ranking for a total of 270 weeks and was a major influence on the modernization of tennis, particularly in his use of diet, fitness, and data analysis. After retiring, he became a successful coach, notably guiding Andy Murray to multiple Grand Slam titles.
