Marcel Hirscher, born on March 2, 1989, in Annaberg-Lungötz, Austria, is one of the most successful alpine ski racers in history. He competed in the World Cup circuit, specializing in slalom and giant slalom, and is renowned for his technical skills and consistency. Hirscher won an unprecedented eight consecutive overall World Cup titles from 2012 to 2019, a record that highlights his dominance in the sport. He claimed a total of 67 World Cup victories and stood on the podium 138 times during his career.

In addition to his World Cup successes, Hirscher secured seven World Championship gold medals and two silver medals, further showcasing his versatility and skill across different events. At the Olympic Games, he won two gold medals (in the giant slalom and the combined) and one silver medal (in the slalom), solidifying his status as an elite athlete.

Hirscher’s career is marked by his aggressive yet controlled skiing style, which allowed him to excel in technical events. He was awarded the Skieur d’Or multiple times and was named Austrian Sportsman of the Year on numerous occasions.
