Kipchoge Keino is a retired Kenyan track and field athlete who is celebrated as a pioneer of Kenyan distance running and a legendary figure in the sport. He was one of the first athletes to bring international recognition to Kenyan athletics, excelling in middle and long-distance events. Keino won two Olympic gold medals and two silver medals during his career.
