Giacomo Agostini is an Italian former Grand Prix motorcycle road racer, acclaimed as one of the greatest in the sport’s history. Renowned for his smooth and elegant riding style, Agostini achieved an unparalleled record of 15 World Championship titles and 122 Grand Prix victories across the 350cc and 500cc classes. His career began with MV Agusta, where he dominated the sport, winning eight 500cc and seven 350cc World Championships. Later, he transitioned to Yamaha, continuing his streak of success. Agostini’s prowess was particularly evident in the Isle of Man TT races, where he secured ten victories. His intense rivalry with Mike Hailwood is legendary and contributed significantly to the popularity of motorcycle racing in the 1960s and 1970s. After retiring from racing, Agostini took on roles as a team manager and ambassador for motorcycle racing, contributing to the sport’s development.
