Larry Bird is a retired American professional basketball player, coach, and executive, widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time. Known for his exceptional shooting, passing, and basketball IQ, Bird played his entire 13-year NBA career with the Boston Celtics, from 1979 to 1992. He was a dominant force in the NBA during the 1980s, leading the Celtics to three NBA championships (1981, 1984, 1986) and earning two NBA Finals MVP awards. Bird was a three-time NBA Most Valuable Player (MVP), winning the award consecutively from 1984 to 1986.

Bird’s career was marked by his all-around skills and clutch performances. He was a 12-time NBA All-Star, a member of the All-NBA First Team nine times, and a member of the NBA All-Defensive Second Team three times. He was known for his fierce competitiveness and his intense rivalry with Magic Johnson, which helped elevate the popularity of the NBA. Bird’s influence extended beyond his playing career; he went on to have successful stints as a coach and executive with the Indiana Pacers, leading the team to the NBA Finals as a coach in 2000 and winning the NBA Executive of the Year award in 2012.
