Samuel Eto’o, born on March 10, 1981, in Douala, Cameroon, is one of the most decorated African footballers of all time. Eto’o started his professional career at a young age and quickly rose to prominence. He initially joined Real Madrid but made his name at Mallorca before achieving significant success with Barcelona, Inter Milan, and other clubs.
At Barcelona, Eto’o was part of a legendary team that won numerous titles, including three La Liga championships and two UEFA Champions League titles. He was also the top scorer in La Liga for the 2005-2006 season. His success continued at Inter Milan, where he won a historic treble (Serie A, Coppa Italia, and UEFA Champions League) in the 2009-2010 season.
Internationally, Eto’o had a stellar career with the Cameroon national team. He won the Africa Cup of Nations twice (2000, 2002) and the Olympic gold medal in 2000. Eto’o is also Cameroon’s all-time leading goal scorer and the highest scorer in the history of the Africa Cup of Nations.
